Every year two families down the street throw a St. Patrick's
day party for everybody on the block. There's Guinness and
Murphy's on tap, plenty of food, and various forms of
entertainment, including the traditional ``barrow burn''.
This St. Patrick's Day party will always be ingrained in my
mind as the only time I've ever exceeded my alcohol intake
limit. At these events, I now keep in mind that I cannot keep
up with the brothers of a certain large Catholic family, as
much as I'd like to.
This photo gives you a better idea of the size of the burn.
There's usually a few old Christmas trees thrown into the
burning barrow, and the flames are easily 12ft high.
